Product Details
The Shanghai Commercial Aircraft Corporation’s steel‑structure project is located within the COMAC Industrial Base in Pudong, Shanghai. It serves as a core supporting infrastructure for the development and mass production of China’s C919 and ARJ21 commercial aircraft, representing a high‑precision, large‑span, high‑standard aerospace‑specific steel‑structure undertaking. The project comprises an aircraft final‑assembly workshop, sub‑assembly buildings, a test‑flight hangar, and ancillary facilities for aviation‑material storage, providing a comprehensive operational environment for aircraft research and development, assembly, commissioning, and flight testing. Compared with conventional industrial steel structures, this project adheres to exceptionally stringent industry standards for structural accuracy, overall stability, spatial flatness, and deformation control, with construction‑technical requirements far exceeding those of typical factory projects.
To meet the core requirements of aerospace manufacturing—ultra‑large spaces and unobstructed operations—the project employs a composite structural system combining steel space trusses with long‑span lattice rigid frames. The core hangar and final‑assembly building abandon conventional dense column layouts, relying instead on a large‑span steel roof truss to achieve column‑free workspaces spanning over 100 meters, thereby fully accommodating the construction needs of full‑aircraft assembly, equipment hoisting, and precision commissioning. The structure exhibits uniform overall stiffness and minimal deformation, with excellent resistance to wind, seismic activity, and thermal‑induced dimensional changes, thus satisfying the stringent demands of aerospace precision manufacturing for environmental stability.
The project adheres rigorously to aviation‑industry construction codes in material selection and grading, with a scientifically sound configuration of primary and secondary structural components. Core load‑bearing elements such as the roof truss system, lattice columns, and main trusses are fabricated from Q355B high‑strength steel, which offers high strength, excellent toughness, and controlled deformation, ensuring the long‑term safety and stability of the large‑span structure. Secondary beams and ancillary enclosure components are made from Q235B steel, allowing for cost optimization while meeting applicable code requirements. The project employs an assembly‑based construction approach: all steel members undergo precision cutting, integral welding, shaping and alignment, and anti‑corrosion pre‑treatment at the factory, thereby enhancing component accuracy and minimizing on‑site fabrication steps.
